Our Services
Three services. Each scoped, priced, and explained in advance.
marinaadia does not offer a general retainer. Each of the three services has a defined scope, a fixed price, and a clear description of what the client receives at the end.
Back to HomeHow marinaadia works through a matter.
The firm begins every engagement with a sitting — a structured conversation, with documents, that produces a written summary. This summary is the foundation for any further work. If the client decides not to proceed, the summary remains with them. If they do proceed, the scope and cost of the next stage are set out clearly before anything begins.
Throughout the engagement, the firm communicates at each material step. No correspondence is sent without the client's knowledge. Where a decision is required from the client, the firm sets out the options clearly and waits. Pension matters in Singapore have their own pace; the firm does not try to accelerate it beyond what the process allows.
Every matter is handled by a qualified advocate — not delegated to a paralegal or assistant. The documents the client receives are in plain language. The bills reflect only what was agreed.
Pension Mooring Sitting
A first sitting that gathers the client's documents, their account of events, and their concerns — and organises these into a single written summary folder. This folder sets out the relevant facts, identifies the key documents, and notes what options appear to be available. It is delivered at the end of the sitting and is the client's to keep.
Further engagement with the firm is entirely at the client's discretion. The sitting is not a lead-in; it is a complete service.
What is included
- One sitting of up to 90 minutes
- Review of documents the client brings
- Written summary folder — delivered same day
- Note of what further documents may be relevant
- Options set out plainly, without pressure to act
How the sitting proceeds
The client arrives with whatever documents they have. The advocate reviews these and asks questions about the background.
The advocate sets out what the documents show, what the relevant rules appear to require, and what gaps exist in the picture.
A written summary folder is prepared and handed to the client. The options for any further step are noted without recommendation or pressure.
What to bring
- Pension or CPF statements (any period)
- Letters from the CPF Board or former employer
- Any withholding notice or decision letter
- Your NRIC or other identification
- Notes of relevant conversations, if any
This service is suited to clients where
- A pension payment has been stopped or delayed without clear explanation
- A withholding notice has been received from an employer or the CPF Board
- Informal attempts to resolve the matter have not produced a response
- The client requires a formal submission or representation
Steady Course in Pension Withholding Cases
Representation for clients whose pensions are being withheld. The firm conducts measured correspondence with the party responsible for the withholding, prepares formal submissions where the matter requires it, and attends any subsequent process on the client's behalf. At each stage, the client is informed of what is happening and consulted before any action is taken.
What is included
- Initial sitting and written summary (included in the fee)
- Review of the withholding decision and its legislative basis
- Measured correspondence with the withholding party
- Preparation of formal submissions if required
- Attendance at any formal process on the client's behalf
- Client consulted and informed at each material step
How the matter progresses
Initial sitting and review of the withholding decision — the firm identifies the legislative basis and the likely response.
Measured correspondence is prepared and sent. The client reviews and approves each letter before dispatch.
If the matter requires a formal submission or attendance, the firm prepares and attends. The client is advised of the outcome.
Quiet Estate Coordination
A planning service that works through the will, the lasting power of attorney, and the CPF nomination together — so that what the client intends is reflected consistently across all three documents. The work proceeds across two sittings. Family members are welcome at either or both.
The aim is not to produce a folder of legal documents. It is to leave the client with a settled set of arrangements they understand — and that will work as intended when they are needed.
What is included
- Two sittings (each up to 90 minutes)
- Review and preparation of a will
- Lasting Power of Attorney (Property & Affairs and/or Personal Welfare)
- CPF nomination review and updating
- Coordination check across all three documents
- Completed folder in plain language for the client to keep
How the two sittings are structured
First sitting: The client's existing arrangements are reviewed. The advocate identifies gaps and inconsistencies, and the client's wishes are recorded in detail.
Between sittings: The will, the LPA, and the nomination are drafted. The client receives drafts to review at home, with an explanatory note on each document.
Second sitting: The documents are finalised, signed, and explained. The completed folder is handed over. Any questions from the client or family are addressed.
Family members are welcome
For estate coordination, it is often helpful to have a family member or future donee of the lasting power of attorney present at one or both sittings. This ensures that those who will act under the documents understand what they say and what they require. Please let the firm know when making the appointment if family members will be attending.
